Privacy Policy
TrueNorth Intell builds and manages private AI operating systems for businesses. This policy covers our website (truenorthintell.com), the TrueNorth Intell app for Clover, and the TrueNorth Intell app for QuickBooks Online. The client service relationship — where a client's data lives, who can see it, and what deletes when — is covered in plain language at Data & Trust and in the published Data Retention Policy. The short version everywhere: we collect only what's needed to run your systems, your data is used only for you, and we never sell it or share it with anyone beyond the providers that run your system.
The TrueNorth Intell app for Clover
When a merchant authorizes the TrueNorth Intell app through Clover's OAuth consent flow, the app accesses, on that merchant's behalf:
- Sales orders (including line items) — to produce daily sales summaries, item-level sales analysis, and inventory-depletion forecasting.
- Payment records (amounts, tender types, and results — never card numbers or cardholder data) — to reconcile sales against the merchant's accounting system.
- The item catalog (names, SKUs, prices, costs) — to map sales to items, track margins, and stage price/cost updates.
The app's only write access is applying merchant-approved price and cost updates back to the merchant's own catalog. It processes no payments and holds no cardholder data.
This data is used solely to operate the merchant's own TrueNorth reporting and forecasting systems. It is never sold, never used for advertising, and never shared with third parties beyond the providers that run the merchant's system (listed on Data & Trust). TrueNorth's server handles only the one-time authorization step and stores nothing. The merchant's OAuth refresh token is kept in the configuration of the merchant's own TrueNorth system, which is where the data is read and processed.
The TrueNorth Intell app for QuickBooks Online
When a business connects its QuickBooks Online company through Intuit's authorization screen, the app reads that company's accounting data on the business's behalf, such as accounts and balances, bills and vendors, invoices and customers, and standard reports like profit and loss. It uses that data to write the owner's daily brief and to answer the owner's questions about their numbers.
The app only reads. It does not create, change, or delete anything in QuickBooks, and it does not use QuickBooks Payments or Payroll.
The data is read by the business's own TrueNorth system, on the owner's own computer or server, and is shown only to the QuickBooks administrator who connected the app. TrueNorth looks at it only when the owner asks us for help, on the owner's own system. The AI model that writes the brief runs under the business owner's own AI account. TrueNorth trains no AI models, and model training is turned off on the owner's AI account. QuickBooks data is never sold, never used for advertising, and never shared with third parties beyond the providers that run the business's system.
The connection's refresh token and company ID are stored encrypted (AES-256) in the business's own TrueNorth system. TrueNorth's server handles only the authorization and token-renewal steps and stores nothing.

Our website is informational. We collect no personal information beyond what you choose to send us (for example, booking a conversation or emailing us).
Retention and deletion
Business data and credentials are retained only while the business's TrueNorth engagement is active. A business may revoke either app's access at any time, from its Clover dashboard or from the Apps area of QuickBooks Online, and may request deletion of any retained data by emailing us — we honor those requests promptly.
